Joe Ratterman: Co-Founder and President

Joe drives the meal truck, writes the news letters,and develops and maintains our web site. He has a degree in Math and Computer Science, and during the day works for BATS Global Markets as Chairman and CEO. In his spare time he enjoys running, water skiing, photography, and is an instrument rated private pilot.

Sandy Ratterman: Co-Founder, Vice President, and Treasurer

Sandy manages the books and records, and does most of the purchasing and inventory coordination. She also manages the Warmth Kit, Fresh Start Kit, and Sponsored Apartment programs. She has a degree in Accounting and previously worked as the Controller for Lioness Realty. Sandy dedicates her time as a volunteer to many great causes. She is active as a Court Appointed Special Advocate in Johnson and Wyandotte counties, providing a voice for children dealing with custody issues in the court system.

Kelley Scharosch: Secretary

Kelley helps with the books and taxes for Hope in the Streets. She has a degree in Accounting. Currently she keeps the books and records for her family's construction business. Kelley is a competitive water skier, and also enjoys snow skiing. She is very active in her local Catholic church.
Michael Sommers

Michael is a long time volunteer for Hope in the Streets as a driver and crew member of the weekly meal truck. Michael is a partner and senior executive at BalancePoint, a leading Kansas City contract services company. Michael enjoys racquetball, running, and spending time with his wife Jane and children, Alexandra and Anthony.
Ruth Lowther

Ruth is a regular crew member of the weekly meal truck. She also helps out with buying supplies for the Fresh Start Kit and Winter Warmth Kit programs. Ruth is a long time family friend of Joe and Sandy, and she is very active in her church and her kids lives.
Dawn Sprague

Dawn is a regular crew member of the weekly meal truck. She is great at finding all kinds of donated items from her network of family and friends and hands them out each week. Dawn is in charge of the food pantry program as well as helping purchase supplies for the Warmth Kit and Fresh Start Kit programs.
